A game maker gave six bots one job each. Data from players led to a cheaper ad and a new game feature.

What it does by itself: Some bots change the game and upload ads without asking. They ask you before anything that spends money.

How it works

A game maker at xAI runs his phone game with six bots. Each bot has one job, its own computer, and its own list of tasks. One bot manages the others. One bot reads the ad and player numbers. It is the only bot that can report a finding. One bot makes new ads. One builds the app. One puts new versions online. One fixes errors at night. The data bot sends the best and worst ads to the ad bot. It sends ideas for the game to the app bot. It asks before anything that spends money. The ad website did not let him connect it, so he recorded himself as he uploaded an ad once. The bot learned the clicks and repeated them every day.

How to set it up

  1. Write each bot's job like a job description: what it does and what it must not do.
  2. Give each bot only the apps that it needs.
  3. Set scheduled checks, for example a summary of ad costs every night.
  4. Record a task once on the bot's computer so that it can repeat the clicks.
  5. Tell each bot who gets its results next. Ask the bots to check with you before they spend money.
Words from the source you can copy

Write each seat as a job description, then: connections, its own cloud computer, routines (e.g. "Every night at 7:10 PM CT: recap spend, installs, and CPI across Meta and AppLovin. Name winners and losers."), recorded skills, and handoffs ("Check with me before anything that spends money.").

Part of Workflows

  1. The data bot reads player numbers
  2. The ad bot makes new ads, and the app bot builds features
  3. The release bot puts the new version online

What people report

The author says the cost to get one new player fell 15 times, from $15 to $1. He says about 4 times more players still played after 7 days. The game passed 1,000 downloads in one week.

Why we rate it 7 out of 10

A rare report with clear numbers from bots that pass work to each other. It is a big setup, and only the author reports the numbers.

How sure we are

Some evidence One detailed first-hand report, or a company story with some outside support.

Official xAI guide from Aug 25, 2026, written by the game maker. Nobody else checked the numbers. A use case site lists it too.
