Email & Calendar
Keep a live list of what you work on, and use it to sort email
From xAI 1 sources
Every hour, a bot looks at your email, chat, and meetings and writes what you are busy with. Then it hides email that does not fit.
What it does by itself: In the original, it archives email every hour without asking. Archived email is not deleted, and you can move it back.
How it works
A product manager at xAI stopped keeping a list of goals, because the list got old fast. Instead, his main bot follows what he actually does. Every hour it reads his email, team chat, meeting notes, and calendar. It writes a short list of the projects he works on and what comes next. He calls it an attention list. The bot uses the list to sort his email. Every hour it archives email unless the email names him and fits the list. He can also ask where he spent time that a bot could take over. He still checks every email to people outside the company, every purchase, and every delete himself.
How to set it up
- Connect your email, team chat, and calendar.
- Ask: Every hour, read my email, chat, and calendar. Make a short list of my projects and what needs to happen next.
- First, ask which emails do not fit the list. Read the answer before you let it archive anything.
- Ask each week: Where did I spend time that a bot could do for me?
"Create an attention list: every hour, review email, Slack, Granola, and calendar and create a succinct set of projects I'm focused on and their current state, what needs to happen next." Use: "Where did I spend time this week that I can offload to an agent going forward?"
What people report
No numbers. The author says the list shows what matters better than a list of goals.
Why we rate it 7 out of 10
A new and useful idea from an official guide. Start with the list only. If it archives without asking, you may miss an email.
How sure we are
Strong evidence Official xAI guides, or several people who reported it separately.
